Microsoft says bye to laser welcomes Blue Track
By Hilbert Hagedoorn, August 28, 2008 - 8:50 AM N/A

Okay that titles does sound weird, but hang with me for a second okay ? Microsoft is running a teaser ad for a new product that will be released next month. The ad states "Say Goodbye to Laser", which suggests Microsoft will unveil a new mouse on September 9 that introduces a new mouse technology that will replace laser mice.

As always with Microsoft, you won't have to wait another week or two to get the answer because Engadget has already found it. A page at the German Amazon website indicates Microsoft will release a new Explorer Mini Mouse notebook mouse with "Blue Track" technology. This new technology uses a blue LED in combination with a wide-angle lens.

So what does this all mean? Basically it means you'll get a mouse with better tracking that will work on more surfaces than laser or optical based mice.
