USB 3.0 Delayed until 2011

According to several rumors on the web a senior tech manager said that Intel delayed USB 3.0 support at a "top tier PC maker". Pointing out that the new interconnect "wont get real traction until it gets integrated in the chip sets," the source claims that Intel wont be offering motherboard integration before 2011, so vendors who want USB 3.0 will have to turn to more costly third party controllers.

Meanwhile AMD and NVIDIA have criticized Intel which seems to purposely dragging its feet on this despite of 3.0 controller spec eventually by Intel. The manager explains that Intel teams prefers its own optical cable interface, Light Peak with 10Gbps of transfer speed ,which is expected to show up early next year.
