Every year at the Graphics Technology Conference, the CEO of NVIDIA Jensen Huang, holds a keynote speech. This year we expect to hear more about autonomous driving, HPC, AI and deep learning. Last year you've seen the announcement of the Tesla V100 GPU for example.

The event took take place in San Jose, Silicon Valley at the McEnery Convention Center at 9 AM (Pacific Time), today which is 18:00 Central European time (Amsterdam). We'll embed the stream, once available so that you can watch it from this news item. The live stream is in the player below and can be viewed full screen here. We'll update this news item as applicable with bulleted updates.

  1. 18:00 CET - Broadcast goes live - Keynote is themed - I am AI.
  2. Amazing Graphics is the first topic. Jensen talks Ray Tracing is covered, D3D Raytracing and RTX. He states it has taken four decades to get where we are now with Ray Tracing.
  3. Star Wars Storm Trooper live real-time raytraced demo is being shown. DGX system was used here, a 68K USD small supercomputer based on four Volta's (!) was rendering the demo.
  4. Announces Quadro GV100 with RTX Technology - 2x GV100 connected by NVlink2 / 64 GB HBM2 memory, 10,240 CUDA cores and 236 TFLOPs Tensor Cores. The Quadro GV100 GPU, with 32GB of memory, scalable to 64GB with multiple Quadro GPUs using NVIDIA NVLink interconnect technology, is the highest-performance platform available for these applications. Based on NVIDIA’s Volta GPU architecture, the GV100 packs 7.4 teraflops of double-precision, 14.8 teraflops of single-precision and 118.5 teraflops of deep learning performance.
  5. Jensen makes a joke, the more GPUs you buy the more money you make. Now talks supercomputing and how the industry needs larger computers. Nvidia is talking exascale supercomputers. Talks AI medical imaging implementation through an NV supercomputer - Project Clara.
  6. Announces the world's largest GPU called DGX-2 (intended for anything AI and Deep learning), the units holds 16 Tesla V100 32GB GPUs connected through NVSwitch. Has a total of 512 GB HMB2 and 81,920 Cuda cores, offering two petaflops (tensor). It 'only' consumes 10.000 Watts (weighs 350 pounds). Costs 399000 USD.
  7. Nvidia Drive - Nvidia thinks that everything that moves will be autonomous in the future. Trucks, cars, taxies, Delivery fans, bused even tractors. Algotyrhtms are hard, software is hard, detecting faults and errors is one of the biggest challenges for safety required in autonomous transportation. Nvidia is dedicated to solving the problems from end to end with training models, cards, road signs, trees, people potholes, lanes, curves, things that are all over the world, Nvidia is training their computers to be able to drive safely. But also creating energy efficient systems to save on battery life of your electric car. Nvidia is combining AI in automotive driving. Task about the expansion of Drive PX Xavier and Pegasus, the architecture that facilitates autonomous transportation.
  8. Orin is the next-gen Drive chips for autonomous driving, a more powerful and energy efficient chip succeeding Pegasus.
  9. No Gaming related graphics cards announcements have been made
  10. End.
