Sparkle Calibre X580 Captain Graphics Card has Quad-Monitor Support

Sparkle has announced the Calibre X580 Captain graphics card, one of the very few Nvidia GeForce GTX 580-based solutions to come with quad-display support.

The card uses Sparkle's proprietary MAXWIDE Multi-Monitor technology, which is seconded by three built-in Mini DisplayPort outputs and two dual-link DVI outputs. These can be used in conjunction with up to four monitors, and can span a single image over three displays simultaneously, or two divided images across 4 displays.

Outside of the high count of video outputs, the Calibre X580 Captain looks pretty much identical to most of the other GTX 580 solutions around, but flipping the card reveals a specially designed backplate, which has the role of cooling the components found on the back of the PCB.

The power delivery system has also been modified in order to accommodate hybrid capacitors, made up of Tantalum and Decoupling capacitors, while overclockers will be glad to hear that Sparkle has even added a series of dedicated voltage monitoring points.

No information regarding the operating frequencies of the graphics card is available at this time, but this is expected to come clocked higher than the 772MHz GPU and 1002MHz (4008MHz data rate) memory set by Nvidia.

Sparkle hasn't said anything about the retail price of the Calibre X580 Captain, or about its release date.
