Rare revealed the system requirements for “Sea of Thieves” on Windows 10 PCs. For an in-depth look at “Sea of Thieves’” PC specs and how the game has been built from the ground up for Windows 10.

Microsoft and Rare have unveiled the official PC requirements for Sea of Thieves. According to the companies, PC gamers will at least need an Intel Q9450 or an AMD Phenom II X6 CPU with 4GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 or an AMD Radeon 7750.

For 1080p/60fps, Microsoft recommends an Intel i5 4690 or an AMD FX-8150 with 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or an AMD Radeon R9 380X graphics card. As it becomes pretty obvious, Sea of Thieves will be a GPU-bound game.

For 4K/30fps, Microsoft suggests an Intel i5 4690 or an AMD FX-8150 with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX 980Ti or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56. For 4K/60fps, Microsoft claims that both NVIDIA’s and AMD’s top GPUs, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti and the AMD Radeon RX Vega 64, will be able to deliver a smooth experience on Ultra ‘Mythical’ settings.

Rare felt it would be more beneficial to not follow tradition with releasing just “min,” “recommended,” and “ultra” specs, and instead better detail the expected experience that each spec will offer. “Sea of Thieves” will also work for those with computers below the official minimum-spec. The game is perfectly playable at 540p, and one of the advantages of Xbox Play Anywhere is that if players own an Xbox One and a low-spec laptop, they can still take full advantage of it.

Sea of Thieves releases on March 20th. Click the thumbnail to check out the PC requirements.
