According to Reuters, Samsung plans to launch a currently unnamed smartphone with a curved display in its native South Korea next month.

"We plan to introduce a smartphone with a curved display in South Korea in October," said Samsung's mobile business head of strategic marketing D.J. Lee on wednesday at a Galaxy Note 3 event in South Korea.

The last time Samsung spoke of curved display smartphones was back in January at CES, where a prototype called "Youm" (pictured below) was revealed. This device lacked "flexibility", but had the screen stretched to the outer edges where notifications could be displayed. It would appear we are still some time away from seeing truly flexible devices, but curve shaped displays is a step in that direction.
