Ostendo curved display has banding issues

aaah and it was looking so darn nice. BSN had the opportunity to take a closer look the Ostendo CRVD, a curved display that seamlessly combines several DLP projectors in one big enclosure to give you an ultra-wide 2880 x 900 pixel resolution. This type of display would be ideal for racing and flight-sim games, but unfortunately the technology doesn't work that well. Theo Valich from BSN complains about banding issues, and that the image on the edges of the screen is blurred. Read more over here.

The implementation of the four projectors in the back of the screen causes an overlap of the images between the projectors that leaves a visible line between each one. The trick is that this line is only visible with light colors, so if you were to play a game like Crysis with a lot of vegetation you are more inclined to see darker surroundings and therefore miss the dividing lines which are really quite visible.
