One of the cards that many of you have been awaiting is the MSI R9 290X Lightning. MSI has it on display at CES. The card has a MSI triple-fan solution and clearly is a triple-slot design. The MSI Radeon R9 290X Lightning PCB features a 15+3+2 phase VRM that draws power from a trio of power connectors, which is a first for single-GPU graphics cards.

MSI has not disclosed just yet when the card is to bee released, but a little birdy told me .. it won't be long. The MSI R9 290X Lightning is Hawaii XT GPU based, and that means a 2816 Stream Core GPU with 64 ROPs. Memory is the standard 4GB GDDR5 memory running over a 512-bit wide bus.

It has two 8-pin connectors, and a 6-pin -- yup three power connectors. Some other features include Triple Level Signals (load level LED indicators), Military Class 4 components, enhanced power design (Digital PWM) and TWIN Bios.

Display connectors include DVI connectors, and the usual DisplayPort and HDMI. The photo's are courtesy of Anandtech (see source link).
