The next-gen graphics chips bring upgraded compute units together with 8GB of faster HBM2 memory to push raw performance up to an 13.7 teraflops. 



ASUS has multiple models based on AMD's reference designs, including liquid- and air-cooled variants, but we're not stopping there. Our ROG division has developed a custom solution laden with the latest graphics innovations. The new ROG Strix RX Vega64 OC Edition is enhanced to deliver better cooling, synchronized lighting, and a more convenient VR experience.

High-end GPUs like the RX Vega64 boast awesome power that inevitably translates to more heat. We rise to the cooling challenge with a combination of brains and brawn that provides excellent performance when you need it and silence when you don't. It all starts with MaxContact, an industry-leading heat spreader machined to tighter tolerances than conventional counterparts. The copper surface is much flatter than traditional head spreaders, allowing it to efficiently extract thermal energy from the GPU.

Heat flows into a massive array of pipes and radiators that occupies 2.5 slots. Despite being only 25% thicker than our dual-slot coolers, this expanded heatsink has 40% more surface area for thermal dissipation. The design also leaves room for airflow between adjacent cards, allowing its three wing-blade fans to breathe deeply across a range of system configurations. Our cooling is so effective that the fans don't even spin up until temperatures exceed a set threshold. Thanks to this 0dB capability, you can surf the web, watch movies, and even do some light gaming with the card in stealth mode.

nboard cooling is only one part of the equation; the Strix RX Vega64 also features FanConnect II headers, which let you attach dual system fans directly to the graphics card. These headers automatically detect the presence of three-pin DC and four-pin PWM fans and adjust the RPMs based on the GPU temperature, so your system cooling reacts intelligently to gaming loads that heat up the graphics card more than other components.

Many AMD fans will celebrate upgrading to Vega with a brilliant red glow, but we don't want to limit gamers to a preset palette. Customizable RGB lighting on the shroud and backplate gives you the freedom to personalize the lighting using a rainbow of colors and collection of effects. Not just an element of cosmetic flair, the lighting can also add functionality by changing colors to reflect the GPU temperature.

As with the cooling, the lighting reaches beyond the card. With Aura Sync, it only takes a few clicks to match the graphics card's glow with other compatible components. Our growing ecosystem of Aura Sync parts covers every aspect of your system, from internal components like motherboards and memory to external devices like monitors and peripherals. Support for the Strix RX Vega64 will also be added to our evolving Aura SDK, which opens up the lighting to developers who want to control Aura with their own software.

Cutting-edge virtual reality experiences need all the GPU horsepower you can muster, making Vega ripe for VR headsets like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. There's just one problem: the reference cards are restricted to a single HDMI 2.0 output that complicates running VR alongside an HDMI monitor or big-screen TV. The Strix RX Vega64 adds a second HDMI 2.0 port to remove the need for awkward adapters or clumsy cable swapping.
