A few days ago a new record was set with a Intel Xeon X5698 processor, the CPU was LN2 cooled and then overclocked to a whopping 6162 MHz. That is a new record for a dual core processors. The base clock speed of the processor is actually 4400 MHz, making the leap a nice 1762 MHz.

Unfortunately the CPU failed on a Cinebench R11.5 run as the scores caved in. Overclocker L0ud_sil3nc3 only got 5.3 points. Other benchmarks on the list were the wPrime 32M and the HWBot Prime.

On the 32M wPrime test, the Xeon X5698 managed 6 4262.65 MHz.
