Intel is will launch its Core i7 4771 in the fall to take its premium line to 2014 when it plans to launch a refresh of Haswell. The new Core i7-4771 will be the replacement of the Core i7-4770. It has only been three months since the latter was released by Intel is introducing its upgraded version already. The new core i7-4771 has similar specs including the 100 MHz core bump of 3.5 GHz base. Turbo frequency is also at at 3.9 GHz. VR-Zone got its hands on a copy of the chip early to run some benchmarks.

The Core i7-4771 is a Haswell based processor that connects with the LGA 1150 pin. It’s clocked at 3.5GHz and can hit 3.9 GHz with Turbo Boost. What we expect is that the Core i7-4771 will be the successor to the current i7-4770. This is because the Core i7-4770K is currently an extra 100 MHz faster out of the box over the non-K version of the CPU. The idea is that the i7-4771 will have the same stock clock speeds as those of the i7-4770K -- 3.5 GHz.

As far as we can tell, the only difference between the 4771 and the 4770 is the speed of the reference clock. The 4770 is clocked at 3.4 GHz, while the 4771 comes in at 3.5Ghz. Earlier this summer, rumor had it that the 4771 would come with a new graphics core but in the end this wasn’t the case.
