Threadripper 2000 based on ZEN+ Pinnacle Ridge dies are up and coming, we cannot wait to test that 32-core version alright. Albeit the current X399 motherboards will be compatible after a BIOS upgrade, we do expect manufacturers to release new SKUs. Gigabyte is the first to spill the beans, meet the X399 AORUS XTREME motherboard.

Though some photos of this board already surfaced during Computex, specifications have been missing. This now fills that info-gap (at least a tiny bit). From the slides that have been presented at an Xfastest event, you can see that they are completely overhauling the motherboards design. The new GIGABYTE X399 AORUS XTREME motherboard will be powered by a digital 10+3 phase design to fully support AMD Ryzen Threadripper 32C/64T 250W TDP processor. Since the slide is listing 250W, we can now finalize the TDP for the 32-core beast. Check out the screenshots from the slide and you will notice an incredibly nice looking heatsink, massive backplate.

The X399 AORUS XTREME is equipped with three M.2 slots all with heat sinks. Gigabyte is going really extreme in the networking connectivity, organized in a 3+1 fashion you will receive 1x of 10GbE (yes, a dedicated 10 Gigabit jack likely from Aquantia), and two 1GbE jacks. That's all next AC dual-band Wi-Fi of course. Check it out.
