Gigabyte now offers a GTX 960 available with 4 GB graphics memory. The larger frame buffer can be useful when playing at higher resolutions, or when playing with higher-resolution textures installed. The graphics card launched with GM206 Maxwell architecture in its reference design has 2 GB, the GeForce GTX 960 4 GB versions are now available.

The GPU has 1024 shader processor cores and supports Microsoft DirectX12 AP, Open GL 4.4, and NVIDIA GameWorks. Gigabyte is offering the GV-N960G1 GAMING-4GD aga G1 gaming edition with a BASE: 1241 MHz / BOOST: 1304 MHz (1266 / 1329 MHz in OC Mode). This model has the WINDFORCE 3X cooling system using high performance pure cooper heat-pipes which direct touch the GPU can strengthen the speed of heat dissipation.

There is also a GV-N960WF2OC-4GD SKU which is the cheaper more regular model with Windforce 2x cooler (equipped with two 90mm unique blade fan and three copper heat pipes), this one has it's baseclock at BASE: 1216 MHz / BOOST: 1279 MHz (1241 / 1304 MHz in OC Mode).

Do not expect to see major gains in performance as the additional 2GB VRAM isn’t likely to help much with increasing framerates in the majority games, remember this is a 1080P gaming card. More VRAM helps in higher resolutions and this card albeit not bad, is simply not powerful enough in 2560x1440 and higher.
