GeForce GTX460 lined up against Radeon 5850

Guru3D.com ImageThere's new information surfacing on the web that NVIDIA is going to introduce a GeForce GTX 460 in June, likely during Computex 2010 in Taiwan. The card is likely to be positioned directly against ATI's Radeon HD 5850 and will be based on a P1025 PCB design, which is similar to the GTX 470.

AIBs/AICs and ODMs will be free to design/redesign the card for customized versions. The card will get a 256-bit memory interface indicating 1GB of graphics memory (gDDR5). Information regarding shaders, clocks and TDP are not yet known. It seems that the card will receive the GF100 GPU and not the GF104 (mid-range), meaning that this card will be based on a fully fetched GF100 with some clusters disabled just like the GTX 470 has.

Of course prices are unknown, but it is suffice to say that NVIDIA will need to kick back hard in order to be able to compete with the mighty ATI series 5000 product line, and as such we expect low prices, thus definitely below the R5850.
