Next months Fallout 4 release will receive some extra eye candy for Nvidia graphcis card owners as the game has Nvidia gamworks enhancements enabled in the game. That by itself is good news, albeit certain effects as such might run worse or not at all on AMD videocards.

Developer and software house Bethesda revealed this news with Wccftech. While the extra image and scene effects will be in addition to the normal rendering engine, they will eat away a chunk in performance. Developers can license the GameWorks implementation, but are not allowed to share that code with AMD can result into a bigger performance impact on AMD hardware. If you take into consideration what happened to other GameWorks titles such as Assassin's Creed Unity and Batman: Arkham Knight, (horrible launches) for the PC, some gamers feel it will be safer for Bethesda to introduce the effects in later updates to prevent what happened in the past with these titles. A recent example of something similar was The Witcher 3, Nvidia Hairworks was injected into the game, available for both parties, yet for AMD this turned out to be an unoptimized performance hog when enabled.

Currently it is not know if the Gameworks effects only work on Nvidia hardware or will optionally on AMD hardware as well. The minimum graphics card system requirements are off though, for Nvidia a Nvidia GTX 550Ti is the minimum card to use and for AMD a Radeon HD 7870, two completely different caliber cards.

Bethesda announced that all 27 versions of Fallout 4 have been finalized and are ready to go. The game launches for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Nov. 10.
