In preparation for Haswell-E related articles to follow soon here on Guru3D.com, the first DDR4 memory kits are in. Since these kits already are announced I can show you some photos. The first kit we received comes from Corsair, it is their all new Vengeance LPX DDR4 memory. These kits are XMP 2.0 enabled and are guarranteed to work with motherboard partners like ASUS, ASRock, Gigabyte and MSI.

Haswell-E and X99 will only allow you to install DDR4 type RAM on the motherboard official speed configurations in steps of 1333 MHz, 1600 MHz, 1866 MHz and 2133 MHz. Quad-channel DDR4 RAM along with increased frequencies could lead to a near 50% increase in bandwidth compared to the older, triple-channel solutions.

The modules will be low voltage (1.2V) DDR4 RAM. The DIMM connector now has 288 pins (as opposed to 284 from earlier). Anyway have a peek at some photos of the 2666 MHz DDR4 kit that just arrived. It is a 16GB 4x4GB DIMM solution with (and you better get used to this) latency timings of CL15-17-17-35 at 1.20 Volts / 2666 MHz.
