Computex - AMD demos Fusion (video)

Processor 721 Published by

AMD is giving a sneak peek into the future, well next year 2011 that is. AMDs future processors will be called APUs (Accelerated Processing Units) and during a Press Conference yesterday in Taipei, the company's Senior VP and GM, Rick Bergman showcased a DirectX 11 demo of the 2011-bound APUs. Don't confuse that with say Intel's Clarkdale which has in fact two processing units (CPU and a GPU) both sitting on the processor package.

Fusion is a single, power-efficient chip that combines both the CPU and GPU into a single die - the APU.
