BenQ outs a new monitor under their new Zowie game serirs branding, this is the XL2730Z a TN nased penel that will drive 144 Hz Gaming. It however has shielding to the left and right, and that makes it more unique as it helps gaming as it block light sources.

The shielding we of course know from pro calibrated monitors, but sure they can be usfull to prevent reflective light sources. It doesn't look rather sexy though.

  • Exclusive DyAc™ technology achieves remarkable clarity particularly for action packed games
  • Shield helps you focus on the game by blocking out distractions
  • New S Switch with built-in memory allows easy access and transportation of personal settings
  • Adopted worldwide by professional e-Sports tournaments and players
  • Built-in Black eQualizer technology brightens dark scenes without over-exposing the bright areas
  • Specially designed frame minimizes reflective screen glare

The panel used is a 27” AUO TN (Twisted Nematic) panel with 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) resolution and 144Hz refresh rate (40 – 144Hz variable refresh rate). Typical maximum brightness is 350 cd/m² whilst this monitor has the usual 170° horizontal and 160° viewing angles associated with the panel type.

There is Dual-Link DVI, HDMI 1.4, HDMI 2.0, DP 1.2a (with Adaptive-Sync, presumably) and a 3.5mm microphone jack. A further 3.5mm microphone jack, 3.5mm headphone jack and 2 USB 3.0 ports are included at the left side of the monitor. The included stand can be removed using a quick release button to reveal 100 x 100mm VESA holes for alternative mounting. Pricing is yet TBA.
