AUROS (daughter company of Gigabyte) just announced their latest gaming laptop, a powerful 13 incher that packs an Intel i7 4710HQ processor (3.5GHz) with 8GB of DDR3 and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 870M graphics processor. The AORUS X3 will be available in three models, each using high resolution IGZO panel displays; both 13.3″ and 13.9″ display models will offer 2560 x 1440 resolutions screens, while the X3 plus model will use an impressive 13.9″ 3200 x 1800 pixel display.

High-end gaming laptop manufacturer AUROS first arrived on the scene last year at Computex with a series of seriously powerful and high specification machines that featured SLI configured graphics processors with lots of memory and top tier mobile CPUs from Intel. Today’s announcement continues that trend with the new X3 series, this time pairing a high end processor, GPU, system memory and hard disk array with a high resolution display that will make the latest gaming titles look very impressive indeed. The AORUS X3 uses a pair of solid state drives in a RAID 0 configuration to bring blisteringly fast game loading speeds and supports four SO-DIMM memory slots for a maximum of 16GB of DDR3LP. Despite its high-end specs, the device is reasonably light at 1.87KG. Connectivity includes HDMI 1.4a, mini Display Port, Gigabit Ethernet, 2 x USB3.0, 2 x USB2.0, Audio Jack combo, DC jack plus SD Card Reader.

The show stealer is of course the high resolution 3200 x 1800 display which AORUS claim will offer a 72% color gamut and high luminance 400 cd/m2 brightness, allowing it to deliver a sharp, clear gaming image even in bright sunshine. Due to arrive on store shelves in Q3 of this year, the top SKU X3 Plus with its 3200 x 1800 resolution display will retail for up to USD $2599, depending on memory and storage configuration, with the 13.3″ 2560 x 1440 model available from USD $2099.
