As most of you guys know, AMD will release the Radeon RX 470 on August 4th followed by the RX 460 on th 8th. The complete specs can now be shared for publication. In this post an overview.

Like the Radeon RX 480, the RX 470 is based on the Polaris 10 GPU, in this ASIC however there are four compute units disabled totalling to 2048 instead of 2304 stream processors. In addition, the RX 470 has a lower clock rate of 926 MHz with a boost to 1206 MHz. Also, the memory is clocked slower at a rate of 1650Gbit/s.

The RX 470 features 4GB and alternatively (depends on AIB partner choices) of GDDR5 memory and a 256bit memory bus. According to AMD is the use of the card at 120W.

The Radeon RX 460 AMD uses a much smaller GPU, Polaris Polaris 11. Like 10, this is fabbed on a 14nm FinFET process . The GPU has 896 stream processors, 48 tmu and 16 rops . The clock speed is 1090MHz with a boost to 1200MHz. There are variants with 2GB or 4GB GDDR5 memory, clocked at 1750Gbit/s. 128-bit memory bus is used. The video card should consume less than 75W , no PCIe power connector is present . The slides to show that the RX 460 also appears in laptops.

With the information embargo lifted I have made an overview of the most important slides as presented by AMD.
