iSuppli released a report about the global microprocessor market (this includes non-x86 chips). In terms of revenue marketshare, Intel stood at 80.6 percent in Q4 2009, a 1 percent marketshare loss compared to the year before. AMD posted a 1.6 percent gain to 12.1 percent, while numerous other processor makers saw their revenue share decline by 0.6 percent to 7.3 percent. More info at EE Times.

Over the course of 2009, AMD and Intel each picked up about a quarter percent of market share, iSuppli said. According to Matthew Wilkins, principal analyst for computer platforms at iSuppli, this was an interesting development because PC average selling prices dropped significantly during the course of 2009
