Specifications of the upcoming AMD EPYC Server processor appeared online last night. The processors will be seated in the EPYC 7000 series and has procs with 8 running up-to 32 cores.
The most expensive 32-core part costs over half of what intel is asking for their 28-core Purley platform (runs well into the 8000 USD I think it was). Amd will change 4000 bucks for the 32-core SKU. AMD would announce the APYC series June 20th. Previously known as Naples, the processor gets quad Zeppelin dies and thus gets 32 cores and a massive 64-threads. The TDP of this processor is only 180 Watts actually.

There will be 12 models released, all processors support 8-channel DDR4 memory up-to 2667 MHz and get 128 PCI-Express lanes. With AMD's Infinity Fabric-interconnects you could SMT two processors (64-cores / 128-threads) and use half (64) of the PCI-Express lanes for that. Amazing tech folks. According to AMD’s own internal testing, the $4000 EPYC 7601 has a 47 percent performance advantage over the Intel Xeon E5-2699A v4. Meanwhile the $1700 EPYC 7401 has a 53 percent advantage over the Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4.
Fun fact of the day, these procs have a 64MB L3-cache :) The cheapest 8-core paert would cost 400 USD, priced close to a consumer Ryzen 7 1800X actually.
