In August AMD released A10-6700T, the first low power desktop APU rated at 45 Watt TDP. This processor uses the latest AMD microarchitecture, codenamed Piledriver, and it has 4 cores and HD 8000 series graphics. Obviously, to achieve lower power consumption the 6700T's CPU and GPU cores were clocked lower than on other members of A10 family. The processor was originally launched in Japan, and it seems that it may materialize in US stores within a month or two. The boxed A10-6700T is currently available for pre-order from shopblt.com website.

What's more, another low-power APU, A8-6500T, is also available for pre-order:

AMD A8-6500T and A10-6700T Accelerated Units have 4 CPU cores, 4 MB L2 cache, along with HD 8550D and HD 8650D graphics. The 6500T operates at 2.1 GHz, and up to 3.1 GHz when the Turbo feature is active. The 6700T runs at 2.5 GHz, and has the maximum Turbo frequency of 3.5 GHz. Both chips have GPUs clocked at 720 MHz. The A8-6500T and A10-6700T processors are expected to support all Piledriver technologies, including AES, AVX and FMA3 instructions. The APUs have 45 Watt TDP, and they are compatible with socket FM2. Current pre-order price of the A10-6700T is $156, which is about $25 cheaper than on Japanese Amazon website. The A8-6500T is priced at $108.
