Here comes the sequel for Raven's ground breaking FPS hit, Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix. Powered by the most popular Quake 3 engine which was developed by id software back in 1999 and was used in their Quake 3: Arena and Quake 3: Team Arena games. The Quake 3 engine is a very powerful engine, capable of not only rendering indoor scenes but it also delivers awesome outdoor scenes. But here in SOF2:DH Raven Software has also used their own in-house  technology which they call GHOUL2. This technology delivers the violence at the next level. With the help of that technology we can see bullet holes all over the body of a person. It means the place where the bullet hits, three things happens, first the blood comes out, secondly the person acts to it depending on the location the bullet hit, and thirdly we see a hole in the location where the bullet struck. As for graphics we see jungles full of grass and long trees, all these adds great to realism. SOF2:DH uses the Q3 engine which has been used in a number of shooters like Return to Castle Wofenstien, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Alice, Star Trek: Voyager - Elite Force, and as well some games are also being developed using that technology like the Star Trek: Elite Force II. And the most important thing to note is that the games which were built on Q3 engine were all great hits and sold well.

This guy guides you through out the training session.

The training session has now became a compulsory part in every game. As today's games offers quite big challenges,  they are not like Mario or Dave. The developers strive to deliver games with similarities to the real world. They add certain things which one needs to be trained of, like stealth, playing covert, and sometimes run and gun. All these things are thought in the training session which is also provided in SOF2: DH. The training session covers good deal of introduction to the new Gameplay as well as from basic to advance level combat and weapons. The SOF2:DH tutorial mission provides a good start for not only FPS fans but also for newcomers. We are introduced with certain weapons and then learn their alternate and normal firing modes. We are also provided with a playing court where we have to reach a certain point (house) without being noticed. In there will be camera's and few of the human enemies whom according to the trainer are their own employees. Talking stealth, we can not only crouch but we can also lay, but in that position we cannot fire. This position is mainly for stealth missions in which you have to do everything without turning on the alarm.

This is the train station.

The menu of SOF2:DH is not complex, it's simple. Unlike MOH:AA, you don't have to search for different things here and there. In SOF2:DH you can easily access all of the options from the main menu. You can set the video settings to the max and as well as optimizing it for your system, like increasing the use of RAM decreases the load times which greatly effects your experience of play throughout the game as you need to quick load dozens of times in a mission. Beside all these the most important thing is the new Random Mission Generator. It is a great step forward. With it we can generate random missions by only providing it with a seed and selecting the type of mission we want to generate. And if we like the result we can also save it for future use. Seed is the word which we insert in the seed-box to generate a specific map, remember that same seed generates same map. So you have to try out new seeds to generate a good map suitable for you.
