MODES OF PLAY
FACTORY DRIVER
: Here, you start as a rookie driver trying to make the Porsche factory team. You start out with a few simple time trials, obstacle and slalom courses. As you progress you will be given different cars to drive and test, and will eventually leave the safe testing areas and unpopulated courses for more difficult and interesting challenges. For example, at one point you will be asked to deliver a shiny new model to a customer waiting on the other side of the city within a certain amount of time, without getting a scratch on it. Sounds easy right? Think again!! On your way, you will have to deal with traffic ranging from small cars to big-rig gasoline trucks, and the occasional crazy driver who is determined to not let you pass. If that wasn't enough, you will have angry cops chasing you and trying to run you off the road. Remember, the car is supposed to be delivered without a scratch. Doesn't sound quite so simple anymore does it? Also, at some points, you will be challenged by other factory drivers to prove yourself and beat their records. As you progress successfully in this mode, you will win special edition cars that are fully upgraded including special paint jobs, and are yours to keep, and will be added to your personal garage. (More info on your garage coming up in the Evolution mode) All in all, factory driver is a blast to play, and by the time you finish it, you will have earned three special edition cars, and greatly improved your reflexes and driving skills. Warning: Because of the intense challenge of this mode, you will probably also have purchased an English-to-German dictionary so you can curse the other drivers in their native tongue.

EVOLUTION: This is the biggest mode in the game, and where you will create a racing career for yourself. Evolution is divided into three parts: Classic, Golden and Modern era's. You will start in the Classic era (1950's) with $11,000 in your account and a choice of buying a 1950 "356" Coupe or Cabriolet. After you choose your paint job and interior colors, and purchase your car, you can begin your career. Once you buy a car, it goes into your garage, and from there you have many options. As you begin to win races, and accumulate money, you can upgrade your cars with high performance engine parts, shocks / suspension, brakes, light-weight body panels, and custom wheels and spoilers. You can also tweak things like tire pressure and downforce-settings to further improve speed or handling. To top it off, you can even choose to add racing stripes and a racing number plate to give the car your personal touch.
However, with this level of customizing also comes responsibility. The damages that occur in the races affect your car in a real way and will have to repaired to keep it performing at it's best. After each race you will have to decide which repairs to make, and how much money you can afford to spend.
