Game review: Dungeon Siege

The graphics and sound of the game are some of the best I have seen yet to date. Taking full advantage of today's and yesterday's video cards. With beautiful running water falls, trees, snowy mountains, bridges over cliffs and gorges to name a few. Geforce cards will work extreme well in this scenario and even low end cards such as the MX400 will run the graphics without a hitch. Since I own an MX400, yeah I know, I cannot imagine it getting any better and piped up with a Ti4600, I can only dare to dream. You can truly stand back and look at the game for all its' immersive qualities. The music is a combination of some of the best one could ever hear, Rivaling that of movie quality scores. One can get truly lost in the world and forget about time when they are playing. Even more so with the unique fact that once you enter the game, you will never see a loading screen. And just when you think you are done with that 7 hour stint that felt like 15 minutes, curiosity killed the cat and you dive into Multiplayer.

Multiplayer is available in 3 flavors. Net worked, separate server over IP and through Microsoft's own gaming server which is similar to Battle.Net. As you log in, you can move to a chat area or join one of the many games over the network. Creating a character is simple enough, and in the game you go as one entity. Inside a game you can group and chat with other players, fight side by side and even fight against each other. There are many flags one can turn on or off, and customization is a sight to see in the multiplayer options. The quest system in the multiplayer game will keep you going for quite some time. Although after a bit you will out play what scenarios they have, and will move on to the Siege editor where you will be able to create your own, or download other games. The replay value on Dungeon Siege is top notch as we will most likely see an endless supply of mods from the gaming population.
