Graphics:
Colin McRae Rally 2.0 has a vast array of graphics
options; this game would run on a 200Mhz Pentium with 64Mb of ram in
the box, and a voodoo3 graphics card. The quality of the game with
that configuration does not warrant the £30 to buy the game, if you
have a 300Mhz Pentium II or lower; I see no point in buying the new
game, as it will feel like the old version all over again.
Using a
Pentium III is really vital if you want to run the game with high
graphics. As ever, using a GeForce based card will make so much
difference. If you can get the resolution up high enough, (2048 by
1536, is the best) the cars look almost show room real. I have many
car games, Midtown Madness 1& 2, Grand Prix 3, Need For Speed, to
name a few, but none of those really push my graphics card. If there
are people out there who love games and have a beast of a machine,
Pentium III 1Ghz or above, with 256mb Ram or above with a GeForce 2
Ultra, you can play the game in glorious 32bit at a resolution of 2048
by 1536 (you will need a good monitor for this).
