- Supports control of your GPU PhysX configuration from the NVIDIA display driver control panel.
- AGEIA PhysX processors users should use and install older PhysX system software. Note AGEIA PPU acceleration support for 2.8.1 SDK or earlier, and Windows Vista and Windows XP only.
Size: 25 MB OS: Win2000, Win7 x32, Win7 x64, WinVista, WinVista x64, WinXP
Change Info:
Official Release Notes are unknown. However, we have discovered that .0807 release only contains libraries for PhysX SDK 2.7.x and above – probably, it was done to reduce size of the installer. At the same time, this makes new PSS incompatible with old (2005-2007) PhysX based games.

Old CPU/PPU PhysX games released before NVIDIA has bought Ageia. Like 50 games or so.

I tried the Arkham City benchmark and this updated engine reduces the minimum framerate bug that plagues AC.
I've not tried them with the other PhysX game yet LOL.

Yep.
Even if you want to play old PPU games, it is recommended to install old PSS like 8.04.25, newer NV PhysX drivers may be not compatible with all titles.

There are some
Both Batmans, Darkest of Days, Metro 2033, Mafia 2 - all have built-in benchmarks.
But they can not be downloaded separately, unfortunately.

Borderlands has built in Physx libs, so this wont matter.

wtf do you get your misleading info have seen it on a few threads, new physx software should help borderlands 2 seemed a lil lighter to me like the fluids arent as heavy
"Changes & fixed issues in this release
Performance updates for various applications including Batman Arkham City, Alice 2 and other 2.8.4 applications."
im pretty sure borderlands uses physx 2.8 or newer thus it would get performance updates

Played BL2 for 2 hours with physx on medium, performance was fine I don't recall frame drops though I did have a few with the previous version.

No, dnottis is right. Borderlands 2 has it's own physX DLL's included with its game dir. You could uninstall physX and Borderlands 2 would still function normally.

Directly from Nvidia...they mentioned it on a comment section from one of their articles on Geforce.com.
Someone asked about using the newer 0613 and they stated that it wouldn't matter, BL2 uses it's own Physx libraries within the game folder.

My experience suggests deleting/overwriting/renaming everything for a given title is a bad idea. But just doing the PhysXCore.dll and PhysXDevice.dll works. Used to be a good performance boost for Mirror's Edge doing that.

Bravo.
I've been on 0613 for the longest time.
