Black Hole benchmark Download Version V4.1

Download the Black Hole benchmark (pre-release). It tests the pure calculation speed of your cpu in double and integer (floating and integer). The bench has 2 tests, multithreaded and singlethreaded. Multithreaded will take all your threads to its max use, singlethreaded stresses 1 thread 100% You can submit the final score to the database and I'll make scoretables of the scores I receive there.

Why Pre-release?

  • Website in make
  • Trying to make a code to measure the turbo clock of the cpu, not the base clock.
  • Looking for improvements

Usage

First Close ALL other programs.

  1. Download the app from the download in this thread
  2. Extract the exe
  3. Run the exe and press multithreaded test (the program can be stuck while running, just let it do his job for 1-5 min)
  4. When completed that, run the singlethreaded test (will last 1-4 min)
  5. Then you get the final score, now you can save it in the database --> post your scores --> fill in your username and RIGHT CLOCKSPEED if overclocked. Be honest on this part!
  6. Click send
  7. Look on this thread for scores, I'll try to update every weekend

Other important information

  • Only for windows from xp and up
  • You need at least .NET framework 2.1
  • Only for 64 bit systems
  • Ram speed and latency can affect the score pretty much
  • At this moment it supports up to 34 threads, I'll update soon so you can test even systems with 128 threads!

My little dual core I7 (3.3Ghz turbo) ...

I'm curious how this benchmark does in comparing processors with less cores to those with more.

9024 total, 5574 multi, 3480 single. This is with RAM at 800 MHz though and stock core clocks.

YAY! Broke 10k! This is as far as my non-K 2600@4.45Ghz will go with RAM at 1696@9-9-9.

''stopoped responding...'' before even got started... Tried to run the .exe in a compatibility mode(s) - still no go..

    Macnine is SandyB 2400, 2x2GB DDR3 1600MHz, win7 64bit, everything is up-to-date (regular official updates).

@smileman: "after I seen many results, I can see AMD is always in disadvantage in terms of the integer pass. I might try to look for fixes in the next version."

Please, don't look for fixes - AMD is itself an disadvantaged hardware. It is quite normal that Intel CPUs run this test much better than Advanced Marketing Deceivers' CPUs (like any other test out there)...

@SLI-756. Damn these IVY's IPC.... Good score man.

To SmileMan and all others interested:

I tested the Benchmark at the same 4.45Ghz with RAM at 1131@4-6-4-16-T1 and 1413@7-7-6-16-T1.

The score was +/- the same as my previous one with RAM at 1696@9-9-9-16-T1.

latency affects the score more then the speed of the ram.

And for people who have overclocked cpu's plz fill in the RIGHT clockspeed in MHZ!
    I receive an i5 2500k at stock that scores more then an i7 2600k @ 4.2ghz °-,-
Hate that, because I still didn't find out to measure turbo clock.... :'(

Smiley, if I may call you that just for now(it sounds good), you should better find a way to measure the real CPU Freq. because people WILL cheat and Ranks will be misleading and incorrect.
People cheat. Who doesn't want his 2500k to beat an overclocked 2600k? :D I know my 2600 cannot beat the K CPU's.

I knew it. Tbh I had a feeling immediately as I saw your score below mine. I really did. lol!

Your specs are 1 step/class above mine. But I don't care. I will still finish the same benches as you, even with the fire department smacking me and pulling me out. :funny: :bonk:

Your RAM is tops my friend, and the only difference between our rigs is that they're different.

True, but that's the problem. The language I'm writing in doesn't support any code to measure the real clock speed. Only what's written in the registry...

I'm sure you will figure something out. You came so far.
E.g Like partly incorporating Cpu-z like software or running independently to measure the clock just before the benchmark begins or something? And saving it for submitting.

I thought the same. To just make that part in another language but would I be able to run them in 1 exe...?

Btw, the benchmark supports now up to 34 threads for the big systems :P

One thing I know for sure. That this only translates to more hard work/research for you and AFAIK you are already very busy as I read.

Well, lucky them.. The rest of the world is stuck at 4/8threads mostly.. :D

Weird about that problem, check or your .NET framework is up to date...
The only person who fixed it, reinstalled windows, but that's not what I want you to do :S

Pretty sure everything is updated, Windows Update shows nothing (and I have gotten .net framework updates through it before so nothing is stopping it). I ran .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (Web Installer) and did a repair. I don't know if I need to run some sort of ".NET Framework 2 or 3" installer, or where I'd find those cause I just can't seem to find my way around microsoft.com.

If possible maybe you should have everyone send you some crash dumps.
