Download 3DMark Basic edition - 3DMark is the 2013 release of a benchmark designed to measure the performance of computer hardware. This version includes three different tests, each designed for a specific type of hardware ranging from smartphones to high-performance gaming PCs. 3DMark works by running intensive graphical and computational tests on your hardware. The more powerful your hardware, the smoother the tests will run. Don't be surprised if your frame rates are low as 3DMark tests are very demanding. Each test gives a score, which you can use to compare similar devices and systems.
Unlike previous versions, there is no overall 3DMark score, only individual test scores. When testing devices or components, be sure to use the most appropriate test for the hardware's capabilities and report your results using the full name of the test.
The new 3DMark includes everything you need to benchmark your hardware. With three all new tests you can bench everything from lightweight tablets to the latest gaming desktops. And it's not just for Windows. With 3DMark you can compare your scores with Android and iOS devices too. It's the most powerful and flexible 3DMark Futuremark has ever created.
Futuremark will offer three versions:
- Includes all three tests: Ice Storm, Cloud Gate and Fire Strike.
- Test everything from tablets to gaming PCs.
- Easy to use, no technical know-how needed.
- Free online account to manage your results.
- Run each test individually for faster benchmarking.
- Unlock the Fire Strike Extreme preset for extreme hardware.
- Explore your PC's performance limits with custom settings.
- Use benchmark looping for stability testing and burning in.
- Get in-depth insights with interactive performance graphs.
- Automatically save your results offline.
- Licensed for business and commercial use.
- Command line automation.
- Image Quality Tool.
- Private offline results option.
- Export results as XML.
The gold build installer is 970MB, so a pretty hefty download. This is because it's essentially three benchmarks in one and has about three times the test content of 3DMark 11
Cross-platform benchmarking
With the new 3DMark, for the first time, you can measure the performance of Windows, Windows RT, Android and iOS devices and directly compare scores across all four platforms. Check the Futuremark website for the latest information on cross-platform availability. Please note that the more demanding tests requiring more advanced hardware will only be available in the Windows versions of 3DMark initially.
Complete Windows benchmarking toolkit
On Windows, this version of 3DMark is the first to include tests for DirectX 11, DirectX 10, and DirectX 9 level hardware within one application. All three tests, even those targeting DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 compatible hardware are powered by modern DirectX 11 engines using Direct3D feature levels. The new 3DMark is best and most versatile benchmark we have ever created.

Too little to late.
Does not impress like the 3dmarks of old.
When you look a the last demo fire strike. Other then some dx11 fx, not much to it.
Want to test your hardware, get the crysis3 beta or BF3.

Try disabling any set ups in the Nvidia control panel, application override AA, AI and adaptive Vsync all heavily affect the results.

I am inclined to agree. Not really feeling this.

Its a load of cack, can't change any settings, can only select to run all tests, and the bugger doesn't even work, just after that thing cuts into the ship on the first one, and those ships start flying out, the sound effs up, then when thet test finishes, it stays on a white screen, have to hard restart, as when pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL, the screen just dims to back, and thats where it stays.

No offense Rich, but it's nice to see I'm not the only one having stupid issues...lol
After 2 successful runs, when I click on "run all tests"...I immediately get a black screen and the system freezes. Fortunately, I can hit Crtl+Alt+Del and logout to kill the running processes...

No offence taken
Just tried again after the restart, this time turning off D3Dover, still a no go, but the sound buggered up earlier than before, so going to try with the GX on my Xonar off, and if that don't work, its a delete

I didn't have any issues with audio....not really sure what's going on. Had this issue with 3DMark11 when it first came out as well. Had the same issue with BlackHole Benchmark where after 2 runs, it proceeded to crash and freeze...

Had the same problem with the sound cutting out, white screen and it hard locking my pc.
The trick is to go to the help screen and turn off hardware monitoring, that fixed it for me. Sadly I'm in no hurry to run the thing again as my pc decided to BSOD an hour or 2 after it forced me to hard reset. Maybe something got corrupted or it's just a coincidence but the only time my pc has blue screened in the last 3 years was when I bought a faulty GTX 660ti four months ago.
I really need to upgrade this old rig.

So is buying the software the only way to skip the 3 demos?

I would expect so since I can't disable the option for them

The beta is on a different game code, the retail is in a certain way a different game, not to mention we've not seen the campaign, this game is gonna be demanding, and not just by adding layer upon layer of AA, i believe we're gonna get a Cryengine3 showcase with this title.
If i don't need another 680 i'll be happy, if i do i won't be surprised. Remember i use no AA, post processing nor blur effects and i'm still unsure if i'll be able to go 1080 60fps solid, minimum is what matters, if it dips to 55fps then it's time for an additional card.
i've yet to try 3dmark, gonna wait till i can buy the retail.
