Download the AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC3 (14.200.1004.0 August 11) driver. This driver works with Windows 7 and 8.1.

This update adds support for CrossFire and Dual Graphics for Plants vs. Zombies, Assassin's Creed IV shows improved CrossFire scaling (3840x2160 High Settings) up to 93% and there are improvements to be found with AOC monitors. We have a discussion thread open on this driver right here.

Feature Highlights of the AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC3 Driver for Windows

  • Includes all improvements found in the AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC driver
  • Display interface enhancements to improve 4k monitor performance and reduce flickering.
    • Improvements apply to the following products:
      • AMD Radeon R9 290 Series
      • AMD Radeon R9 270 Series
      • AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
    • Even with these improvements, cable quality and other system variables can affect 4k performance.  AMD recommends using DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2 certified cables with a length of 2m (~6 ft) or less when driving 4K monitors.
  • Wildstar:  AMD Crossfire profile support
  • Lichdom:  Single GPU and Multi-GPU performance enhancements
  • Watch Dogs:   Smoother gameplay on single GPU and Multi-GPU configurations

Feature Highlights of the AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC Driver for Windows

  • Includes all improvements found in the AMD Catalyst™ 14.6 RC driver
  • AMD CrossFire™ and AMD Radeon™ Dual Graphics profile update for Plants vs. Zombies
  • Assassin's Creed IV - improved CrossFire scaling (3840x2160 High Settings) up to 93%
  • Collaboration with AOC has identified non-standard display timings as the root cause of 60Hz SST flickering exhibited by the AOC  U2868PQU panel on certain AMD Radeon™ graphics cards. A software workaround has been implemented in AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC driver to resolve the display timing issues with this display.
    • Users are further encouraged to obtain newer display firmware from AOC that will resolve flickering at its origin.
    • Users are additionally advised to utilize DisplayPort-certified cables to ensure the integrity of the DisplayPort data connection.
Feature Highlights of the AMD Catalyst™ 14.6 RC Driver for Windows
  • Plants vs. Zombies (Direct3D performance improvements):
    • AMD Radeon R9 290X - 1920x1080 Ultra – improves up to 11%
    • AMD Radeon R9 290X - 2560x1600 Ultra – improves up to  15%
    • AMD Radeon R9 290X CrossFire configuration (3840x2160 Ultra)  - 92% scaling
  • 3DMark Sky Diver improvements:
    • AMD A4-6300 – improves up to 4%
    • Enables AMD Dual Graphics/AMD CrossFire support
  • Grid Auto Sport:
    • AMD CrossFire profile
  • Wildstar:
    • Power Xpress profile
    • Performance improvements to improve smoothness of application
    • Performance improves up to 24% at 2560x1600 on the AMD Radeon R9 and R7 Series of products for both single GPU and multi-GPU configurations.
  • Watch Dogs:
    • AMD CrossFire – Frame pacing improvements
  • Battlefield Hardline Beta:
    • AMD CrossFire profile
Known Issues
  • Running Watch Dogs with a R9 280X CrossFire configuration may result in the application running in CrossFire software compositing mode
  • Enabling Temporal SMAA in a CrossFire configuration when playing Watch Dogs will result in flickering
  • AMD CrossFire™ configurations with AMD Eyefinity enabled will see instability with BattleField 4 or Thief when running Mantle
  • Catalyst™ Install Manager text is covered by Express/Custom radio button text
  • Express Uninstall does not remove C:\Program Files\(AMD or ATI) folder

I've heard about these DX9 issues, but what exactly are they? Is there a video that shows them?

Did you try it yet, or are you just assuming?

I'm not on Windows, but my DX9 apps worked fine last checked. Of course, it could just affect games outside of the 5-6 I tried on two totally different GPUs.

From what I understand, it involves texture corruption. I haven't seen anything like it though personally, but as I mentioned, it could just "conveniently" not affect any of the games I tried.

    Don't trust changelogs
A lot of things just don't make it in there, besides, this changelog looks like comparison to latest stable, i.e. the dx9 corruption that showed in previous RC is not gonna make it in there, the only way is to try it for yourself (never seen dx9 corruption with 14.7 rc1 btw)

I hope they're working on something big. This changelog is like they're pretending nothing is wrong. My computer still starts half the time to a black screen, and there was that massive temperature hike after 14.6. Both are still not fixed.

this is all they have done after so much time?
and i was dreaming to see an alternative to Nvidia shadowplay...
that was dreaming high , i know , but still this changelog is ridiculous, i wonder why they even bother to put these out.
not trying to be a hater but they are giving reason to everyone that thinks AMD drivers are done by a couple of monkeys.

Pft, at least you guys have a new driver. the Linux driver is still stuck at 14.6 Beta 1.

Was looking forward to trying Catalyst again with 14.8, but I guess that'll have to wait. Open-source drivers are kind of broken on my 7850 currently (try dealing with video playback and random browsing unrelated to video that locks the entire OS up).

disappointing, Nvidia scores with new versions.

Raptr Game DVR is already good enough alternative to ShadowPlay.. I record BF4 with practically no FPS drop, and Mantle support is incoming..

that even makes it worse, they are bad all around i see.

i just wonder if they are even planing to make a move to counter the Nvidia GPU recording function.
its especialy important since i cannot even use Mantle if i want to record my gameplay, wich is constant , i see this "silence" as them ignoring one of the most important features on their cards while loosing terrain everyday to the competition , which is just plain stupid.

I agree they should expand their driver department. Software nowadays is very important and even tho mantle is superb in itself, the driver team is left in the dirt kinda.

and i dont mean expand to put out new drivers more often, but more like feature wise and bug fixing.

The linked drivers here take me to the 14.7 RC1 AMD page--which AMD put up July/10/14. I've been running them for a month. Eh? (These are not new drivers--at least, not the ones the G3D link currently is displaying.)

Yep--these are the drivers I downloaded on 7/13/14--it's weird. The link on the Rage3d site listing the 14.7's has been changed back to an AMD page showing the 14.4's (title of the thread still says 14.7RC1, however.)...!

Guys, somebody at AMD is playing fast and loose with urls... These are *old* drivers....Haven't seen this before...!

Where the "RC3" came from I have no idea at all...!

Edit: Judging by all of the posts made subsequent to this I guess it's true what they say about leading the horse to water... Does no one care that AMD released these betas more than 30 days ago? (I guess not.)

One Day Later: I boot up this morning to a Catalyst notification taking me to the 8/12 RC3 driver page...that did not exist yesterday. Very strange. Anyway, I now have the actual 14.7RC3's, for what it's worth...

I did not say they do not work for me... But sometimes (especially on faces) I see artifacts, but they are not present in this drivers, will test State of Decay next..
