Intel Core i7 920 and 965 review by Hilbert Hagedoorn 11/3/2008

So today Intel launches these Nehalem based puppies on the new name Core i7 as in their 7th architectural generation. A name that will catch on quickly and you'll get used to just as quick as well. No less then three processors are announced today and Guru3D.com will taken a look at two of them.

Core i7 Multi-GPU SLI Crossfire Game performance review by Hilbert Hagedoorn 11/3/2008

This article will cover Multi-GPU gaming, both ATI CrossfireX and NVIDIA SLI. We are not talking two GeForce 9600 GT's in SLI or a set of Radeon HD 4850 cards in Crossfire, no Sir ... we start in the high-end performance segment with 2-way, 3-way and 4-way GPU SLI adn CrossfireX configutrations.

AMD Phenom X4 9950 BE processor tested by Hilbert Hagedoorn 10/3/2008

A review on the Phenom X4 9950 BE processor. This is AMDs is the cream of the crop processor of the quad-core product line, it runs at 2600 MHz on all four cores with a multiplier of 13. But really, it doesn't mind 3000 or 3200 MHz either. And that's what we'll show you in today's article.

ECS Atom 330 Dual Core P945GC review by Hilbert Hagedoorn 9/19/2008

Take this mainboard from ECS. It comes with integrated Dual Core Atom 330 processor. It has integrated sound, 10/100 Ethernet and integrated graphics. Really all you need to do is insert a slice of DDR2 533 memory and connect a HD, and you are on the web ... browsing at fairly normal speeds, listening to a songs, watching a DVD ... heck it all works fine on that Intel Atom 330 for sure. Next to that, the power consumption is obviously amazing. The platform completely maxed out merely utilizes 55 Watts, and half of that your PSU will account for all by itself.

CPU scaling in games with dual & quad core processors by Hilbert Hagedoorn 5/15/2008

Quad core CPU vs gaming. For this article we figured it's be a good idea to have a look at the performance of your average Core 2 Duo dual-core processor, and then take a handful of Intel and AMD quad-core processors, throw them at a high-end specced graphics card but and see what processor and platform really will bring the most value and is the fastest.

AMD Phenom X3 8750 review by Hilbert Hagedoorn 4/23/2008

With the incremental increase in multi-core computing AMD last year surprised pretty much anybody in the world when information leaked regarding a roadmap showing CPUs with not 1,2 or 4 cores on them .. no three cores. That's right, a triple core processor based on the Phenom architecture. Let's have a look at it.

AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition review by Hilbert Hagedoorn 4/10/2008

It's April 2008 and AMD released their Phenom X4 50-series processors, with an all new fixed B3 core, hopefully they can now leave the past behind them and move forward with a processor that can actually start competing with the competition. So get that in your brain real tight, the biggest deficit of that B2 revision processor, is now fixed in the B3 edition, the deletion of the TLB erratum.

  AMD 780G & Athlon X2 4850e (ECS A780GM-A) by Hilbert Hagedoorn 4/3/2008

Granted, usually I'm not the one to get excited about budget integrated mainboards. But at the CeBIT AMD announced their 780G chipset, and for the first time in history I was pretty excited about the technology. In addition to releasing the low-power 55nm RS780 chipset AMD has also brought forward another energy efficient pile 'o transistors under the name of Athlon X2 4850e. We'll take a look at that one as well.

Intel Skulltrail Platform test by Hilbert Hagedoorn 2/3/2008

Intel released their all new Skulltrail platform. The recipe is simply, you take the fastest server-mainboard on the planet, tweak it to enthusiast levels, make use of a truckload bi-directional FB-DIMM memory, take not one but two of the fastest quad-core processors that money can buy on this globe, make sure there are four PCI Express slots on the fracker, shake it, stir it .. and send it out to the press. the result ? The fastest computing consumer PC on this globe.

Core 2 Extreme QX9770 Quad-Core review by Hilbert Hagedoorn 12/19/2007

A couple of days ago we received a phone call from Intel with the question if we wanted to test an even faster Penryn CPU. Well, you know me .. when it comes to enthusiast products I'm like a bitch in heat, bring it on. In that previous article we already have you a good overview of the to be released Penryn products on Q1 of the next year. One of the products in that extensive line of 45nm products, actually the one on top, is the Core 2 Extreme QX9770 Quad core processor. The cream of the crop, top notch product.
