Corsair Obsidian 800D review
by Hilbert Hagedoorn
11/6/2009
Corsair has a reputation to deliver products in the somewhat more high-end region, they set the bar really high when it comes to enthusiast hardware and tend to really think things through. As such, when the first ideas started to float in the coffee room in a building about a Corsair Chassis, the R&D team put together some great minds and did not at all look at building a chassis, no, they very likely reversed roles; what would you guys like to see or need when building your dream chassis? Their first ever PC chassis is called the Obsidian 800D, and it is without any shame I dare to state that this is among the best ever PC cases I personally have ever tested. Yes, this chassis is marvelous.
NZXT Guardian 921 review
by Hilbert Hagedoorn
8/18/2009
PC cases (a chassis) come in many varieties and over the years we certainly have reviewed a good share of them. One name that constantly comes back with new designs targeted at a gaming audience is NZXT. The offer a wide range of gaming related PC cases on the market and surely we have seen them grown a lot ever since we reviewed their first chassis many years ago. Without further ado let me introduce you to the most difficult to photograph chassis of all times, as it is highly glossy and reflective, the Guardian 921 with sheer nice looks and a very nice price.
SmoothCreations LANShark!
by Brann Mitchell
6/30/2009
SmoothCreations delivers another thrilling custom computer. The LANShark is small, light, and fast. While it is plenty fast, its overclocking potential is limited by its cooling, however. The aim towards durabilty may compromises its full speed, but the custom paint job totally makes up for it.

SmoothCreations Neptune Xtreme Machine
by Brann Mitchell
4/1/2009
Listen up buttercup, King Neptune just mopped the floor. What I thought was going to be a custom case review turned out to a full-on bad-ass PC system to review. OK, I'm game. While it might not be the ultimate to the hardcore, SmoothCreations built an awesome machine, worthy of praise and attention.
SunBeamtech Acrylic HTPC chassis review
by Hilbert Hagedoorn
1/26/2009
A review on the SunBeamtech Acrylic HTPC chassis. A fully functional HTPC chassis, with proper cooling, front panel, UV lit fans all at a very sharp price of just 79 USD. Sunbeamtech offers their Acrylic HTPC case in two versions: a clear non-UV reagent acrylic (HTPC-T) or using a blue UV-reagent acrylic (HTPC-HUVB), the model we reviewed.

Project-X - Building a new Guru3D.com test rig
by Hilbert Hagedoorn
12/29/2008
X58 as you guys know can support both SLI and Crossfire, allowing one PC to test both, and for a reviewer that's pretty wicked really as we do not have to build multiple similar configured systems. One to rule them all. We figured, let's make a new system and go a little crazy. So the guys over at Smooth Creations decided to help us out by taking care of a custom paintjob. I wanted, blue Guru3D colored flames with our logo stamped in there, with a black coating.
Smooth Creations Customized Volkswagen Bus PC review
by Hilbert Hagedoorn
10/10/2008
Today something unique, a Smooth Creations Customized Volkswagen Bus PC test. You can purchase pre-build customized PCs, or of you have won the lottery, pick out your own PC and have it custom tailored. The sky is the limit here, you pick you components from low-end to high end, regular cooling, water-cooling, single GPU or 3-way SLI/CrossfireX you name it and they make it. Ours was a Crossfire model, airbrushed in a pretty unique design.
Hiper Media Center HTPC HMC-2K53A-A3 review
by Hilbert Hagedoorn
4/21/2008
Hiper recently released a new model of their slim-line HTPC barebone chassis, with VFD (display) fully integrated mainboard and PSU. Pretty much you drop a HD, a slice of memory and a processor in this system and you are good to go since the mainboard even has support for multi-channel audio, VGA & HDMI output as it's based on the reputable AMD 690G chipset (mainboard with integrated graphics card). And next to all that, it even comes with a pretty decent remote control.
