The popular Anno series has been ongoing for many years now always based on history. The franchise decided to jump to the future, 58 years ahead of time. For Anno 2070 the graphics engine has been updated, the game is now DirectX 11 compatible. And as such it is time to throw a couple of graphics cards (well we can't say that nineteen graphics cards are a couple really) at it to see how well the game performs with DX11 cards Anno 2012.
We grab eight different processors from AMD and Intel, and have a peek if modern age processor make a performance diffence with the Radeon HD 7970. Will a 1000 USD processor offer much more performance compared to a 250 USD processor ? Let's find out shall we. Read article
Corsair made a wise decision as well, they will not stick to just one SSD based controller, and as such they just launched the Performance Pro series SSDs. In 128GB and 256GB capacities these drives will be unleashed just before the Christmas season is starting. Read article
After waiting way too long before the game to be unlocked we wanted bring you guys one of our traditional graphics and processor performance articles. As such we'll take a card or ten today and have a look at DX11 performance with the newest graphics cards. We'll also show you the performance differential with a couple of different processors.
In this article we'll look at all four processors, the AMD FX 8150 - 8120 - 6100 and 4100 in a quickie performance review. This article is nothing more then a performance overview of all four processors released yesterday. So this article is basically functions as a performance chart overview.
Crysis 2 launched earlier this year I have to admit, I was a little ticked off that the game was only a DX9 title. Hence I did not even bother to purchase it. However a week and a half ago Crytek released a new 1.9 patch, that and bringing DirectX 11 towards the game. And yet another patch was released, a high-resolution texture package. The end-result even baffled a graphics monger like yours truly. Today well be looking at game performance with a graphics card or sixteen. Next to that we'll also have a peek at CPU scaling a little to see on what platform the game runs best. Read article
We have a look at Starcraft II Wings of Liberty GPU graphics performance. With no less than 13 graphics cards we see how well this soon to be released game behaves in terms of image quality and framerates.
Zalman also took note of the global crisis and is very aware of the fact that not everybody can spend 80 EUR on a CPU cooler these days. With that in mind the went back to the drawing board, trying to uphold the quality standards their other cooler have, then came up with a new design, stripped away the more flashy and gimmicky items and bingo, a new child was born, a more budget-minded version of the say CNPS 10X Extreme, the Performa. But is it any good ? Read article
Typically with USB 2.0 you'd limit yourself to roughly 30MB/sec so it will be very interesting to see what MSI's latest USB 3.0 Star add-on controllers have in store and what kind of performance they bring to the table opposed to that old interface. Therefore we test USB 3.0 with the USB 3.0 ready N002 SSD, this device is able to deliver up to very fast 200 MB/s and 170 MB/s sequential read/write performance. But how will it perform on USB 3.0 ? Last week Codemasters released a two level playable demo allowing you to play the game on both DX9 and DX11 (if you have a Radeon HD series 5000 card that is). Also integrated is a benchmark mode, very handy. Now we'll not be using the standard benchmark yet our own scripted test run in the Ensenada Port circuit set in Baja California level where we can drive through sand, mud and water to measure the most prominent DX11 features like DX11 Hardware tessellation, Geometry instancing and displacement mapping -- plus obviously more complex shader usage. let's go check out both the DX9 and DX11 image quality and performance.
