If you want to burn DVD's or watch Blu-rays, by all means go ahead but for a gaming machine you may no longer need (plus I imagine most of you already have a spare optical drive laying around)."

So have you heard of some thing called "the country" - some people do actually live here and not in big cities where internet connection with 100/100mbit are available. The max may be 5/1Mbit - and downloading a 16GB game may take days ! using a DVD media you can be playing within an hour ! so that's why we still need optical drives !.
