NZXT Kraken X40 review

NZXT recently unleashed the Kraken X40 liquid cooler, we test and review it. The Kraken X40 is a 140mm radiator based LCS unit that offers pretty solid performance numbers as you are about to find out. Combined with a cooling infrastructure provided by Asetek this all-in-one and easy to install kit can even be connected towards your PC through USB, where you can monitor and regulate the LCS unit and apply presets to make the LCS unit either silent, or high performance.

Those closed liquid coolers are too noise for my taste.

Well, this one's not noisy, according to the dB levels.
So glad I was holding off getting an H70 or H80 Core.
This is so getting on my buy list.

What wizardy is this? A 140mm radiator at Silent(39DBa) outperforming a 240mm radiator at Perf.(43DBa) in 1.2v and as good in 1.3v?
Koniakki, I'm trying to make some sense out of your post, but not once did the X40 Silent pass the X60 Extreme ?

The H100i is also having a 240mm radiator, I believe.

Ah compared to Corsair. Well, the results are what they are, NZXT is far more aggressive in airflow overall + I find the 140mm and 280mm products to be overall better then the 120/240 ones.

Dear Hilbert, could it be possible to add in future LCS reviews Push/Pull configuration results too?
They are supposed to get more performance out of the units, I've seen that fact in other sites reviews, but I want the info comming from a respectable site like guru3d.
Greetings and thanks.

Indeed I was referring to the H100i Hilb .. X40's(140mm) 39DBa vs H100i's(240mm) 43DBa with about the same perf.! Dang!

+1 I though about it also when I read the review. I thought he would test the X40 at least, in push-pull config.
But that might make the difference from X60 even less and that will not look good for the X60. That would be bad press/marketing for the X60.
