Guru3D Rig of the Month - September 2012

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 09/28/2012 09:54 AM [ 29 comment(s) ]
This months Guru3D Rig of the month, September 2012, build comes from a name that rings a bell alright, Francis Vilaca aka Sate200. The man at 26 years of age has build a very beautiful game PC. Nearly a floating helicopter really ! Not bad for a businessmen who sells wood. Francis has submitted his rig multiple times, but the latest revision of his build shows craftsmanship and excellence. Let's have a look.

Gimmie the scottish climate anyday, no need for such drastic cooling when you can just open a window for 5 mins.

That is great but how much more of an overclock have all those fans in that loop given you? or is it just for super low temps?

You don't even need to open the window outside of summer, it's just cold enough without heating anyway, can see your breath some days without the heating on.
Suffice to say, cooling isn't a problem.

Nice rig man !
But, my biggest concern is about the purpose of all that. Seriously I don't understand why so much horsepower and money spent on a rig to play on a single 1080p 22" monitor... half even third of your rig would be great enough to play on that kind of small area... And you are no benchmarker so...Really can't see the sense of all that...My advice: become an overcloker addict and a benchmarker
On my side, when I see your HW, I would have easely save here and there to invest in a 5x1 portrait 1080p 24" IPS Eyefinity setup.
Just my 2cents...

I have 1 display, because not adapt a Eyefinity Tecnology, in my case I had nausea and vertigo!!! I know I'd be pretty Eyefinity, but this problem hinders much! thanks guy!!!

Utterly ridiculous!
There must've been no other builds entered this month.
Or is this supposed to be some kind of joke build?

to give you an idea, this was taken half an hour ago, middle of the night here and the heating was just switched on previous, i'm usually around 6 - 8C warmer.
^Cpu idling, if it gets stressed some of the cores will hit around 64 - 68C, my gpu has never ever been over 58C, gaming it'll sit around 50C.
Of course if i was to be a benchmark type person, i'd reach warmer temps, however i'm not.

i dont understand why people always complain about others having too much rig for what they are going it to use it for. So what. We are all enthusiasts and appreciate nice build and new hardware. Why do people buy lamborghinis and drive it on a sunday to a coffee a shop on a highways doing speed limit? Simply because they can and love having nice things. Yes they could get there on a honda civic and having a Lambo is a "overkill" but it's all about getting there in style. Hope i got my point across.
Very nice rig there man. Enjoy it!

its amazing what can be done with a shed load of money,it may be ott for 1 monitor but you still have to look in awe with the quality and effort gone in to his rig.
nice one sate200

we are not complaining, but rather giving him some tips, and there is no one denying the excellent build quality of this rig, it is indeed a master piece in terms of both liquid cooling and good looking too

The rig itself is nice, but something with that much oomph really should be running a 27 or 30 inch screen at 2560 x 1440 (or 1600). That's the only way I justify 3 x 7970
although eyefinity in the future is tempting.

I run eyefinity in my last set up and to be honest i was not a huge fan. Yes it's awesome with racing games games but with FPS games which i mostly play it's too much and i found myself playing much much better on one screen rather than 3. Even after using eyefinity for something like 6 months. Right now i just run 2 monitors. I'll have game on one and whatever internet/other programs on the other and found it works best for me. OP said eyefinity makes him dizzy. But i do agree 1 30 inch monitor would suit that set up much better than a simple 22 inch monitor.
Oh and that 2nd asus themed rig is gorgeous.

Yes, I am jealous.
