Guru3D Rig of the Month - December 2012

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 12/19/2012 09:42 AM [ 23 comment(s) ]

This months Guru3D Rig of the month, December 2012, build comes from Alexander Hede, aka Ace_finland, currently working as a development engineer for a plastic pipe producing company. He decided to join in on a Cooler Master competition and transformed the very basic test-benches into something truly awesome as you are about to find out.

x2 680 /7970 lightnings then slap a Crysis 3 sticker on the side of it.
I agree with rig of the year though.

I think I might come up with more interesting comment after I stop drooling.

This is insane! Congratulations on your craftsmanship and rotm award.

Like many people here at Guru3D I've been into computers for many years, with that said Alexander's system is very impressive to say the least! In my opinion its one of the cleanest custom builds I've ever seen that was built by an individual and not a company or corporation! Thanks for taking the time to cover it Hilbert!

The platform (I refuse to call it a case since the components are exposed) is awesome... but a Core i5? Really?

Wish I could be bothered to make a rig like this, for me I just stick to fan cooling and a standard case lol.

I love how you have it set up like a tech bench case on crack lol. It looks amazing how you took what could be a simple tech bench frame like I used to work with when I worked for Prime Systems, a internal company that fixes and repairs systems at the whole sale website http://www.Directron.com which is here in Houston where I love. You took it to the next level, or, more like Like 20 levels higher then the next level. Very Unique bro. Mad Props! Almost inspires me to such a build a set up like that. it's easy access to the components and great for working with over clock tweaking etc. Not to mention the open air cooling again. Beautiful rig! :)

Ace, how much would you charge for this case? I wouldn't mind buying it off from you ;). PM me if you're interested!
