We test and review the GeForce GTX Titan. The GeForce GTX Titan is NVIDIAs fastest single GPU based graphics card they have ever built. It is based on the GK110 GPU and has an astonishing 7.1 Billion transistors and is as such is nearly as fast as one GeForce GTX 690 with two GTX 680 GPUs ! We test the product with the hottest games like Battlefield 3, Sleeping Dogs, Far Cry 3, Medal of Honor Warfighter, Hitman Absolution and many more. Next to that with the three samples we have at hand we'll be looking at SLI performance scaling in another article as well.

Well it's around the £830 mark in the UK which is just mental. Glad I bought my second 7970 from BLEH! this week. Getting more performance for a little over half the price (second hand)
Still would lurve one though. Looks soooooo sexy. Have to hand it to Nvidia they produced a beautiful card.
Seriously mental, when you consider its only between 25-30% faster than the 7970 which can be had for £300, you could even get 2x of em for £600 which would beat it, saving yourself £240 in the process.

Why couldn't they release a redesigned GTX 670/680/690 with a 384-bit bus and 3 GB of VRAM? The extra bandwidth would give the cards an edge where AA is concerned and the extra VRAM would prove useful for 2560x1600+ gaming. Then they wouldn't have to sell them for £825 either.

Interesting info about frame rate latency, its the only thing that's really good by this Titan. Also 690 GTX is the worst - i guess SLI syncing issues.

Actually...I noticed they were running Crysis 3 over a Titan -well: GK110- for this, which not only makes the CPU debate on topic, but also probably completely pointless because it's based on results achieved with a GPU using release drivers running a day old game...not a healthy combination.

BTW does anyone else find this comical the guy with the intel rig is at this point coming off as an AMD fanboy and the guy with the AMD rig is sounding like an intel fanboy. Because I certainly find it funny.

I havent had a chance to read much, from what I read it is very good, the pricetag is a downer. I think they are going to sell like hotcakes even at that price

My cards are watercooled and run 24/7 at 1200 core and 1800 mem.
My experience with crossfire is great overall. Of course there has been problems between drivers but nothing major with games. Most of the problems through the years has been with clocks when idle. It has been resolved long time ago.
When it comes to games, the only one I remember not having a way to fix was Witcher 2. It took like 2 weeks to fix it if I remember correctly. Anyway I have had crossfire since 4870x2 + 4890, 5970 (my favorite card)+ 5870 and now 7970 x2 and I am a happy customer.
Support is way better nowadays and I could never see/feel microstutter. CFX is a must for me with a 2560x1600 screen.
Radeonpro is great including a lot of excellent features like FXAA/SMAA, HBAO, CFX profiles, SweetFX, etc.
Sorry for off topic. Titan looks like a great card but at that price is not for me. I think my cards at 1300mhz can stand a fight

I was reading other reviews yesterday and it made me laugh when I came to the HardOCP review where they were excited to be able to play Crysis 3 maxed out at 5760x1080 at 48 fps with, wait for it, 3x Titans in SLI. That's £2,500 worth of graphics card to run a game across three screens at less than 60 fps. I don't know what they were smoking but, if that was me, I'd demand nothing less than 60 fps even at that resolution.
I finally got to play Crysis 3 for myself in the early hours of this morning when it unlocked here the UK and it is clear that 2 GB of VRAM is a hindrance to this game even at 1920x1200 when using maxed out (Very High) settings and TXAA or MSAA (which, IMO, offer superior anti-aliasing to FXAA or SMAA). I saw dips to 18-22 fps during the opening section but when VRAM wasn't being stressed I was getting anything from 30-60 fps which is at least playable. This isn't enough to convince me to go out and buy a Titan but my next graphics card will almost certainly be one with 4 GB or more of VRAM.

I assume they left room for the AIB partners to release factory faster clocked SKUs.

No but it shows what the architecture is capable of when it is optimized for multi-core floating point type computing but we were only talking about Crysis 3 so all my posts were in light of Crysis 3 at stock now you bring it the idea that you were speaking of other uses and overclocking nice diversion. The point is that the average pc gamer upgrade his entire rig before the energy difference makes up for the initial savings most 8350 systems are around $150-$200 cheaper than a 3770K. On the over clocking side of things you really do not need to over clock modern cpu's in games as the link you posted shows. Now last point the other uses you mean like video encoding.
