Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 11/13/2012 03:47 PM [ 25 comment(s) ]

In this review we'll look at Call Of Duty Black Ops II VGA Graphics benchmark performance with 21 graphics cards. The new and massively popular Activision title is a great looking game. But how will it perform on a selection of different graphics cards ? This review will cover all these basics and then more.

Not that I didn't expect it, but good to see it being easy to run

Had been interesting to see the minimum spec tried out though

This game is so old, i mean the engine....
With my 670 + 3570K i can't experience even a single stutter. I feel like im playing with 200 fps or something. I should downclock my gpu....
Am i the only one who think, that the game is so freakin chaotic?
I mean, the enemies fall before i click the mouse button....
The game will fill up my free time til AC III and Hitman come out.

The 5850 is reported as getting 58fps in 1920 vs only 53fps in 1600. Typo or magic? (fingers crossed for magic).

Aah such magic. Fixed, thanks for reporting -- that's 63 fps

the 580 does well in this title, been on the fence on a couple 670/680 for a long time. I think I`ll just wait on the 780 or 2

The FPS is so high for the cards. I'm not sure AMD need to bother releasing a driver than bumps it to the top in the benchmarks again, but if the 12.11 is a sign of things to come, then the 12.12 could be very interesting.

Edit: Just seen 12.11 beta 7 covers BO2. Just missed the window to use it in this benchmark Hilbert!

Cool :) my 6950 2GB can handle it (which means this game engine is getting old haha)

You didn't include 7970 Trifire :P not that I'll be playing CoD anyway, not a fan of the series at all.

Looks pretty much like the old engine, only in DX11 mode :D

It thought they would be using the Frostbite 2 engine for this game.

Fantastic review there Don Hilbert. I will get this game next year when the price drops :p

Well, I can tell you that framerate is insane with TriFire. I've not gone that far into the game, no incentive to play it as it does NOT support surround/EF res :bang:, but @1920x1200, I'm seeing framerate from >100fps to >300fps depending on the scene and what was happening.

Nono, Beta 7 was used for the Radeon cards. So the perf optimizations for this title are active.

Correct, the plan was Beta 6 which was initially mentioned in the article. But I received an email from AMD yesterday that Beta 7 would be out real soon.

So at that stage I processed the NV cards first and waited until the Beta 7 was available.

Ah cool. I think COD might need a new engine, it is hardly pushing any of the cards.

OMG! Sales are gonna go through the roof lol.Engine might be dated but with the DX11 enhancements it looks 100 times better.
