So what does all this mean for you guys, the gamers? Well, with the technology as described above, imagine playing a game. In that game you'll have some powerful sound as obviously that's a big stimulant. Yet when you walk through a green field of grass, you wall starts to color green... you start running... a slight breeze of air is now blowing through you hair. And here you see the enemy and open fire, with each shot fired or an explosion... you can feel the shot/explosion. To get a grasp of this concept this is what we'll be showing you today. A fully-fledged amBX kit.
Why this review? Well this is new and innovative. I like it very much. Next to that, the guys from Point of View, who you know from their graphics cards, are going to release kits based on amBX. But they did it real clever though...
Point of View started working with Philips and Ubisoft to get this project off the ground. As of this week, Point of View will offer kits based on one of their graphics cards (GeForce 9500/9600 GT), a Philips amBX light/speaker kit and a bundled game... this week's released Brothers in Arms - Hell's Highway. So a kit like this with the game, graphics card and amBX will cost just over 300 EUR. And though that is a lot of money, it's a breathtaking experience.
