We review the PC Power and Cooling MK III Silencer 750 Watt review from OCZ technology. The Silencer Mk III series are all about being quiet, being awesome and very efficient and again, the PSU as tested today carries a Gold certification. The PSU also improved on the audibility front as it comes with a switch, enabled it and up-to 350 Watt the fan will remain disabled and at that load your PSU merely lukewarm. The 750 PSU is lovely in performance, the one massive 62A 12-volts says it all really. Excellent for multi-GPU solutions and hardcore overclockers. The PSU is engineered with merely premium components, including Japanese 105°C capacitors and heavy-duty protection circuitries.

It's now Winter 2013 and PC Power & Cooling is offering a new modular power supply that is Gold certified, and its armed with the looks to kill, the all new Silencer Mk III in the 750 Watt flavor.

The Silencer Mk III  series are all about being quiet, being awesome and very efficient and again, the PSU as tested today carries a Gold certification. Bronze, Silver but really Gold or Platinum is what you want, however the upper stack in hardware is expensive.

Gold certified means it's 90% efficient at 50% load. Efficiency matters; years ago PSUs were as low as 70% efficient, meaning that 30% of the used power simply vanishes, whilst you are paying for it on that electricity bill. If your components eat away 500W then with that 70% efficient product you'd actually use 650W. With today's Silencer Mk III 1200 Watt Platinum you'd be using 550W. The math is that simple.

The PSU itself is modular for the bigger part (aside from primary ATX leads and cables), for most of you with a side panel window in their chassis a must really as you'll want modular cables. The Mk III 750W also sports a the Dual Thermal Control System that big brother the its MkIII 1200 also has, this allows the PSU to switch between normal and silent mode. The new PSU as such is improved on the audibility front as it comes with a switch, enabled it and up-to give or take 350 Watt the fan will remain disabled and at that load your PSU merely lukewarm.

The PSU is impressive  in performance, it has one big 62A 12-volts rails says it all really. Excellent for 2-way multi-GPU solutions and alongside a little overclocking and tweaking as well. The PSU is engineered with merely the best components, including Japanese 105°C capacitors and heavy-duty protection circuitries.

All in all we have plenty to show you and test. Mind you that these PSUs are backed by an excellent 7-year warranty. But have a peek at the product and then let's head onwards into the review.
