PC Power & Cooling MK III Silencer 1200 review -
So then, here we have the packaging so if you are in the stores, look for something bright and white ;) The PSU inside is packaged nicely and protected in a carton. Ours we presume is an early sample. The Mk III Silencer 1200W Platinum is carefully packaged alright, let's have a peek at that:
The PSU and cables all come in a carton packaging protected with plastic. The PSU is protected by a cloth pouch and inside a layer of plastic, the modular cables can be found in a pouch as well.
After unpacking, not a dent, scratch or smudge was on the unit. I like it, the PSU breathes this stylish two tone white and dark finish. The PSU is ready for all current CPU & GPU generations and offers high capacity on its single +12V rail which is great for multi-GPU graphics solutions or really high end graphics cards. That's a whole lot of cables alright ! GPU connectors for example .. you'll get six 6/8-pin PEG headers.
At the front and top side we spot a honeycomb air vent; it allows for optimal airflow running through the PSU, cooling down its components and keeping them nicely efficient. Also, obviously we spot the power connector and the on/off switch. Just above it is yet another switch, let me zoom in for ya:
With the upper switch you can select two fan modes. On mean you'll have an active fan all the time. (the product is quite silent btw), the second mode disabled the fan up-to 600 Watt load. That means it'll be fanless and thus inaudible until it reaches that threshold. That's pretty impressive really.
Guru3D and OCZ join forces and decided to get you some cool hardware. OCZ released their Silencer Mk III platinum series, these are all about being quiet, being awesome and very efficient and again, the PSU carries a Platinum certification. To try and win a free 1200 Watt model you need to participate, all you need to do is Like our Facebook page (if you haven't already) and leave a comment in the Facebook thread. Good Luck!

We review the PC Power and Cooling MK III Silencer 1200 Watt review from OCZ technology. The new Silencer Mk III series are all about being quiet, being awesome and very efficient and again, the PSU as tested today carries a Platinum certification. The new PSU also improved on the audibility front as it comes with a switch, enabled it and up-to 600 Watt (!) the fan will remain disabled and at that load your PSU merely lukewarm. The 1200W PSU is massive in performance, the one massive 99.5A 12-volts says it all really. Excellent for multi-GPU solutions and hardcore overclockers. The PSU is engineered with merely premium components, including Japanese 105°C capacitors and heavy-duty protection circuitries.
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MkII 750W PSU review
The new model PC Power & Cooling power supply is their Silencer Mk II series of PSU's. It's the 'bloke' PSU series again with a simple design, and hey -- nothing is modular so the PSU certainly is a squid inside your system with all the tentacles (wires), but yeah .. lots of you don't really care about cable management, they just want the best of the best and sure ...as you'll learn you can't really complain about the essence that is the Mk II Silence 750W power supply.
