Let's do a synthetic test with Sandra, just to see if we can match the results we've seen in HD Tach. The drive index test is what I refer to. Higher = Better. The new firmware shows improvements.

You guys will agree with me that even a Western Digital Velociraptor is a fast HDD at 87MB/sec, the new generation SSDs change the dynamic fast though, with the new firmware ~493MB/sec in write and 526 MB/sec for today's read test. That's what you may expect.
