Honestly from an overall look kind of view I am a little impressed by the power supply as tested today. Both on the inside and outside the PSU simply is done right as the aesthetics simply are good. A grey/black PSU finish with a RED light coming from the PSU. Top notch we find the cable sleeving. All connectors have really nice sleeving in thin black, that is seriously going to look good inside any PC. The stickers on the sides could have been left out really.
A good thing to help you keep thing tidy is of course the modular design as well. you only use the cables you actually need and that prevents you from that swarm of spaghetti inside the PC. Cabling wise all cables are nice and lengthy and the 1000W model comes with a plethora of connectors. We definitely love the six 6/8 PCIe PEG connectors for multi-GPU gaming. Another good thing is the massive single 12V rails, it has more then enough ampage to power three heavy duty graphics cards.
When it comes to overall stability under several load levels, we do not have to complain either. We did not run into any voltage spikes or weird behavior. Under load the PSU will remain silent enough and gets lukewarm at best.
The modular design doesn't hurt efficiency or anything and that shows, the PSU was continuously close to Gold level certified products, so efficiency wise we are confident that the gold certification is correct.
With our PSU reviews we are always the first to state that our review remains somewhat subjective with our real-world test approach. Test methods wise we say our test is valid, as it is precisely the kind of load you guys would apply to a PSU like this. Scientifically, however the tests are a little less precise and we want to be very transparent about that fact.
Concluding then, honestly I'm impressed with the offering that OCZ has here. Product and feature wise from A to Z things are done right, the PSU next to that has cool looks, is modular and comes withy sleeved cables which if you where planning to do so, is going to save you heaps of time not doing it yourself. Aesthetics are subjective though.
OCZ tops it off with a five year warranty, not bad at all. The retail price of the Fatal1ty 1000W unit is a notch on the high side though, here in the Netherlands we spotted it for 190 EUR. Definitely recommended though, it's one of the best PSUs OCZ currently has to offer.
