Let's do a synthetic test with Sandra, just to see if we can match the results we've seen in HD Tach. The drive index test is what I refer to. Higher = better.
The WD Velociraptor is fast at 87 MB/sec and then the Intel 320 SSD shows performance up to 216 MB/sec speeds, which is on par with what can be expected. But the differences with the new SATA 6G SSDs remain geeshnormous though.
