Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1024MB

So its time to have a closer look at the retail products. First off, above packaging so you know what to look for in the stores.

Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1024MB

Above you can spot the Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870. The cooler is 100%  reference, is heatpipe based and overall very silent, but we'll show you that in out tests of course. Bundled are the basics like drivers, card, CrossfireX connector and two Molex to 6-pin PCIe PEG connector converter cables.

Gigabyte Radeon HD 6870 1024MB

The card is reference, and comes with two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors, one HDMI 1.4a connector and two DVI connectors of which one is single and the other dual-link. If you have a very high resolution monitor at 2560x1600 and connect your card to the single link connector, your resolution could be limited to ~1280x1024 or something close. Use the dual-link connector, and you'll have the full 2560x1600 resolution available. This of course only applies to the two DVI connectors.
