GeForce GTX 760 2-way SLI Tested

Today we'll have a look at the all known denominator, SLI performance. We review the GeForce GTX 760 in 2-way SLI, next to our default FPS benchmarks we do FCAT Frametime measurements as well. As always, over the next few pages we'll tell you a bit about multi-GPU gaming, the challenges, the requirements and of course we'll have a nice tasty benchmark session with the latest games. We'll have a peek at temperatures and power consumption of the GeForce GTX 760 cards in 2-way SLI mode to monitor their generated performance. Before I continue with the introduction, due to the number of cards and sheer amount of stuff we have to talk about, as always, we have split up the GeForce GTX 760 related content in two separate articles, otherwise we'd end up with one 50+ page article.

In this article we'll be looking at 2-way SLI from a single monitor point of view, so ideally either 1920x1200 or 2560x1440/1600 is the monitor you have to be able to compare to what SLI would do for you on your setup. You will notice great performance increases with 2-way SLI, truthfully with so much horsepower, it's a hard thing to accomplish if you do not have the right PC. With that in the back of our mind we created a second segment in this article.

So if your wallet allows you to, you can quite easily double up that GPU shader processor count and thus performance with the help of NVIDIA's SLI technology. Let's say that you pick two 249 EUR GeForce GTX 760 cards with 2 Gigs of memory each. Doubled up in SLI two of these puppies would bring seriously more performance to the table making it compete with even the GeForce GTX Titan. Yeah, Multi-GPU gaming has grown to become more popular over the past few year thanks to NVIDIA's SLI solutions initially, and obviously later on when ATI CrossfireX joined that path as well. Over the next few pages we'll tell you a bit about multi-GPU gaming, the challenges, the requirements and of course there'll be a nice tasty benchmark session. We'll have a peek at temperatures and power consumption of the GeForce 760 cards in 2x SLI mode to monitor their generated performance and look at multi-GPU handicaps.

Have a peek at the products being tested today, the GeForce GTX 760. And then let's start up this article.
