13 - Overclocking with Call of Duty 4
Tweet

Overclocking: Call of Duty 4

The card does have some proper cooling to keep the temps down a little more effective. As a result we have been able to set the core frequency at 760 MHz and the memory at 2200 MHz (effective). Let's fire up COD4 again and see if we can boost the framerate a little with the help of this overclock.

Image Quality setting:

  • 4x Anti Aliasing
  • 16x anisotropic filtering
  • All settings maxed out

There's definitely room for some more tweaking, and it's worth it to do so. Quite nice to see.

Today we review the Diamond Viper Radeon HD 3850 512Mb Ruby edition, a lovely product. It's a Radeon HD 3850 colored with a red PCB, a custom cooler slapped on top of it and they pre-overclocked it to get closer the Radeon HD 3870 performance level.
