So the samples that have arrived in our all Dutch test facility are both 240GB versions of the Neutron and the Neutron GTX drive. The GTX series will come with Toggle NAND helping out in IOPS performance and overall write performance. The SSD leverages a Link_A_Media Devices (LAMD) LM87800 6Gb/s SSD controller. That SATA 6 Gb/s interface delivers read speeds up to 555 MB/s and writes up to 511 MB/s depending on volume size of the SSD and SKU model.

Corsair Neutron

After formatting the 240GB SSD you'll get 223GB of available volume. Its maximum sequential read and write speeds are 555/511 MB per second, with maximum random 4k write speeds as high as 85,000 IOPS for the GTX model. The standard Neutron series still push hard at 555 MB/s reads and 370 MB/s on writes.

MSRP typically means lower re- and etail prices though.

Initial tests straight away show us that both products are fast alright, this series stays on top of the latest Marvell, Indilinx and sure, Corsair's previous latest and greatest as well. Interesting to see is that the Toggle NAND flash type comes from Toshiba. But have a peek and then let's move onwards into the photo-shoot.
